To whom to turn when applying for assistance?
In the IDF: the Service Conditions (SC) Officer.
In the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption: the immigrant soldiers coordinator or the general coordinator in the branch or bureau nearest to your place of residence.
To accomplish this, you must bring the following documents with you to the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption:
Immigrant Certificate.
Certificate of "lone soldier" status or eligibility for family assistance from the IDF.
Confirmation of service.
An immigrant who studied in an post-high school institution of higher education prior to his army service must present documentation proving this.
Additional Discounts
Certain local authorities offer exemption from payment of fees to soldiers during their regular service. In order to receive the exemption, the soldier must contact the collections' department of his municipality and present an army service document and a copy of the letter of authorization of army service.
Soldiers in regular service are entitled to discounts on intercity bus fares, at museums and other places of entertainment, on presentation of their army service document.
