Specialization and Activities in Community Social Work
Within the confines of its community activities, the Department of Social Services is involved in continuing to establish and promote specialization and the provision of tools to diagnose social status of immigrants who face difficulties and who have special needs.
In addition, department employees are involved in the development and promotion of social services to immigrants in the town, with emphasis on key goals established by the Ministry administration: coping with problems of youth at risk and distress, and coping with the problems of family violence in immigrant families.
Activities include:
Diagnosing the social, problematic status of immigrants in geographical and functional communities, such as housing assistance.
Planning, initiating, developing and promoting social service programs within the inter-ministerial steering committees.
Developing and promoting various prevention programs through participation and involvement in steering committees in local authorities.
Joint activities with welfare associations and organizations among weaker population sectors.
