This site is another step towards improving service for new immigrants in Israel, to Jews overseas, and to Israeli citizens residing abroad.
On the 5th day of the month of Iyar, 5708, May 14, 1948, upon declaring the founding of Israel as the Jewish State in the Land of Israel, David Ben Gurion appealed to world Jewry, saying, "We call upon the Jewish people throughout the Diaspora to unite with us in our homeland by making aliyah, by building the land, and by taking part in the momentous undertaking of the redemption of the Jewish people, which has been the dream of generations."
The establishment of the State of Israel is an historic, national project without precedent. Millions of Jewish people from all corners of the world have gathered in one small middle-eastern country. They have been successfully absorbed, contributed to the building of the nation, and turned its existence into a fact.
The Zionist enterprise of aliyah and absorption, has been, and remains, the human basis for the establishment and flourishing of the State of Israel. The millions of new immigrants who arrived in the past, and who continue to arrive, strengthen the national resilience of Israel, help mold its future, and shape the perimeters of the nation's culture, society, and dialogue.
At the heart of this historic enterprise, the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is motivated by the understanding that behind every new immigrant is a complete life story, and that insuring successful absorption will positively impact upon the future of Israeli society.
The staff of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is committed to providing new immigrants with maximum assistance, support, and attention. This is reinforced by ongoing, professional monitoring, and by maintaining a continuous connection with new immigrants in order to make absorption as easy, comfortable, and fulfilling as possible. By doing so, we also insure that more immigrants arrive in the coming years.
Wishing a successful absorption to us all.
