The Center for Absorption in Science deals with immigrant or returning resident scientists as well as scientists prior to their immigration / return to Israel who have contact the Center from overseas.
Documents Required for Registration:
CV of the scientist in English or Hebrew to be distributed among potential employers in Israel.
List of scientific publications and patents registered by the scientist.
Photocopy of the diploma (Masters and/or Ph.D)
Photocopy of pages 1 and 2 of your teudat oleh (for scientists who made aliyah)
Returning resident abroad – must submit a returning resident questionnaire that can be obtained at all Israel embassies overseas.
How and Where Does One Register?
In Israel – at the national branch in the main office – see Addresses and Telephones
Abroad – by post or by email.
Returning Resident Scientists – at Israeli consulates.
The Center will examine the candidate's compliance with the definition of a scientist and will notify them as to whether their request has been accepted or not.
Based on this decision, the scientist will be included in the computerized database of the Center for Absorption in Science.
The scientist may present the approval of the Center regarding his eligibility to employers during his job search.
Processing of the scientists' requests will take place at the Center for Absorption in Science in accordance with the fields of the scientists' academic certification.
Service Given to Scientists by the Center
Employment Guidance and Assistance
The scientist will meet personally with the scientific placement counselor for employment orientation and to receive information on organizations involved in R&D in his field, including potential employers.
The Center for Absorption in Science will distribute the scientist's CV to employers.
Note: Scientists who are considering aliyah may send their CV and a list of publications by email or regular mail.
Financial Assistance
A scientist recognized by the Center for Absorption in Science will receive assistance in the form of participation of funding of his employer.
The assistance will be given to the employer only after the scientist has arrived in Israel and has received an immigrant certificate or returning resident certificate from a certified authority in the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption and as long as the terms of employment has been reviewed and approved.
Joint Project with the Manufacturers Association
The Center for Absorption in Science operates a joint project with the Manufacturers Association in Israel.
Within the confines of the project, the Manufacturers Association identifies job openings for R&D engineers in industries for immigrant scientists registered with the Center of Absorption in Science.
Following an initial screening, qualified engineers are invited to interviews and compatibility tests for factories affiliated with the Manufacturers Association.
A similar project is also being carried out with the Kibbutz Industry Association that identifies the needs of R&D engineers in kibbutz industries, in kibbutz-based incubators and in regional R&D centers.
