We welcome you to this website, and wish you a speedy return and successful absorption in Israel!

On May 16, 2010, the Government of Israel decided (in Decision No. 1687) to embark on a worldwide campaign aimed at encouraging Israeli citizens living abroad to return to Israel. During a Government meeting it was resolved to act to bring back 50,000 citizens each year, starting from January, 2011. Campaign results will be reported to the government at the end of 2011. The decision will remain in force until the end of December, 2012.

To help citizens who are interested in returning to Israel, a dedicated website titled "Returning to Israel" was set up. The website summarizes the benefits and the new definitions of the program, allowing for a convenient overview of the extent of eligibility and the conditions for assistance (the binding wording of the definitions and benefits is the wording in the pertinent laws, in the government decisions, and in the procedures of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption and other ministries, pertaining to this matter).

Also involved in this welcome initiative are other government ministries charged with implementing optimal services for returning residents, among them the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister's Bureau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor, and the Ministry of the Interior. These ministries will operate collaboratively and in full cooperation for the efficient, effective, and convenient implementation of decisions.
