The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption operates, through the embassies and consulates abroad, a unique project for maintaining contact with Israelis living outside Israel – the Israel House. The main purpose is to offer counseling and guidance for those interested in returning home, and to provide personal support and counseling in planning the return.

The coordinator of the local Israel House can also refer questions in writing on your behalf to the Returning Residents Division regarding complex matters requiring examination, and can provide you with an authoritative answer. All this renders the Israel House an important tool in implementing the national policy for promoting return to Israel.
The Israel House, an extension of the State of Israel abroad, is a reliable and supportive source of information and help for any Israeli interested in returning home.
Another key role of the Israel House is to serve as a meeting place for Israelis, where they can express their Israeli identity, in a Hebrew-speaking environment, and experience Israel's public holidays and religious festivals by participating in social and cultural activities with an Israeli orientation.
These activities include:
- Holiday celebrations,
- Lectures by well-known media, literary, and business figures.
- Appearances by local artists.
- Viewing of Israeli films, and more.
Today, 15 Israel Houses operate throughout the world:
- In the U.S.: New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

- In Europe: Paris and London
- In the Ukraine: Kiev
- In Russia: Moscow
