The Employment Guidance Centers are intended for new immigrants and returning residents who are not currently working in their professions or in fields close to their professions.
The goal is to assist new immigrants and returning residents to integrate into the work force, by way of acquiring tools for job searching and professional upgrading where necessary and in accordance with the advice of the professional team.
To achieve this goal, the Guidance Centers provide the following services:
Guidance and diagnostic services
Professional Hebrew terminology
Job placement
Professional updates in computers or English
Who is entitled to be accepted at the Guidance Centers?
Those with 12 years of education.
Men and women of working age, professionals.
Those who have passed the basic requirements in the Hebrew language.
Those who have been passed by the acceptance committee
What is the period of eligibility?
For returning residents—eligibility is for up to two years from the day you returned to Israel.
Please note:
The returning resident is authorized to participate in the Employment Guidance Center only once during the period of eligibility.
The length of stay at the Employment Guidance Center shall not be longer than 90 days of actual study.
Returning residents learning at the Employment Guidance Center will receive Income Insurance in accord with their personal entitlement—see Financial Assistance. Income Insurance
Who is authorized to refer returning residents?
The placement officer of the Guidance Center for Academic Employment and employment counselors of the general employment bureaus.
Department heads at District Employment Offices responsible for ‘absorption through employment,’ and employment coordinators at the bureaus.
What is involved in the acceptance process?
Acceptance at the Guidance Center depends on:
An employment interview
An examination in Hebrew
A Psychotechnic examination
