The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, through its Research Division, initiates and carries out studies and surveys on a range of issues associated with immigrant absorption. Some of the studies and surveys are carried out in full conjunction with other research organizations, academicians, government or public.
The research topics are diverse, focusing on the nature of absorption processes and the unique needs that accompany the various absorption stages faced by groups of immigrants from different countries as well as returning residents. Studies are conducted on a range of absorption issues, the degree to which the programs being operated for immigrants in order to improve their absorption and the services given by the Ministry to the immigrants are effective.
Purpose of the research is to lay a groundwork of scientific knowledge that has accumulated about absorption.
The main target audience of this knowledge is the Ministry administration and employees. Its purpose is to help the Ministry formulate relevant absorption policies for the immigrant population, to define the primary goals in accordance with the changes in the composition and an appreciation of the degree of efficacy of the programs being operated.
