The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is at your service 24 hours a day!
The Ministry of Immigrant Absorption is expanding and improving its service to the immigrant public. As of 1.12.02 the Ministry has been operating a 24- hour- a -day Telephone Information Center (until the beginning of Shabbat and immediately following the conclusion of Shabbat).
The Telephone Information Center offers quick and professional answers to questions concerning the rights of new immigrants, preparing the public for a state of emergency in the event of an attack on Iraq, information during terrorist attacks, and basic and general information for those in the initial stages of absorption. The Center will refer those who wish to professional organizations which can offer assistance in specialized areas such as employment, consumerism, religion, services for women and children, education, and other issues.
The Center operates in 3 languages: Hebrew, English, and Russian. On certain days, information is available in languages such as Amharic, French, and Spanish. Announcements about the schedule will be publicized in the media.
From time to time an open line will be implemented on topics of special interest such as legal aid, National Insurance benefits, and more.
In addition, any caller can request written material on subjects of interest, which will be mailed directly to you.
Note: the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption, through the Information Center, conducts periodic surveys to evaluate the quality of service. Such surveys provide continuous feedback on improving service.
We invite you to make use of the Telephone Information Center as your main source of telephone inquiries, and as a supplement to the professional, individual service you receive at the District offices.
We hope this service will help reduce the number of visits you need to make in person to our offices, and will enable you to receive service 24 hours a day.
