The Burial Department of the Ministry of Religious Affairs is responsible for handling all burial matters. In each and every community the religious council handles arrangements for the burial of Israeli citizens. They are obligated to provide solutions for those who are not recognized as Jews halachically. To this end the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption has allotted a number of plots in cemeteries in 15 communities around the country. Following is a list of cities:
