Employment Centers for Olim are designed for immigrants and returning residents who are not working in their professions or in related fields.
The purpose of the center is to assist their integration into the job market by providing job-search skills, and by reinforcing professional skills based on need and in accordance with the recommendations of a professional team.
In order to achieve this goal, the employment centers provide the following services:
Counseling and diagnostic services.
Professional Hebrew and terminology.
Job placement.
Professional upgrading of computer or English skills.
Who is eligible for acceptance at an Employment Center for Immigrants?
12 years of education.
Both men and women must have a profession and be of working age.
Applicants must pass a Hebrew proficiency exam.
Applicants must pass an admissions committee.
When is the Period of Eligibility?
For the general immigrant population - 10 years from the date of aliyah
For Ethiopian immigrants - 15 years from the date of aliyah.
For returning residents – eligibility is up to two years from the date of their return to Israel.
Take Note!
Immigrants may participate in an Employment Guidance Center only once during their period of eligibility.
The maximum period of stay for immigrants in an employment guidance center is 90 study days in accordance with their personal eligibility – See Financial Assistance, Income Insurance.
What parties are certified to refer immigrants ?
Placement counselors at Academic Employment Guidance Centers and vocational advisors at the Employment Bureau.
Directors of District Employment Divisions and Vocational Coordinators.
What is the admissions process?
Admissions to the employment guidance centers is carried out based on the following:
Vocational interview
Hebrew test
Psychotechniocal test
