Rental Assistance

Immigrants are automatically eligible for rental assistance from the second year they are in Israel, through the Ministry of Construction and Housing.

The sum of the assistance varies according to family status and the number of years in Israel.

The period of eligibility for automatic assistance (without an income investigation) is given to those who meet the definition of 'without housing” and who have been in the country for up to five years from their date of aliyah.

Single-parent families are automatically eligible for assistance for a period of five years, beginning from the second year in Israel and up to six years from the date of aliyah.

Immigrant soldiers who are drafted within their period of eligibility for rental assistance will be entitled to continued assistance based on the fourth year (fifth year in Israel) for the duration of their regular service.

Lone immigrant soldiers who are in regular service in the IDF will receive additional rental assistance.

The decisive majority of those automatically receiving assistance receive the allowance directly into their bank accounts.

Immigrants, including the elderly and families living on National Insurance allowances are entitled to increased rental assistance for an unlimited period of time provided that they are defined as “without housing.”

The amount of rental assistance varies according to the classification of the recipient, the period of assistance and family status.

Those who do not automatically receive rental assistance will have their assistance processed through one of the rental companies.

The sum of the rental assistance will not exceed 95% of the rental fees.

For additional information, please contact the companies that provide rental assistance.
